Shearling jacket

It seems like I have been looking for a winter coat for over a year now. I looked through all the vintage shops back in Melbourne for the perfect coat to keep me warm during a North American winter. But I didn't find anything. Of course, there were so many, but I seem to be incredibly picky when it comes to jackets and coats. The problem was I didn't even know what I was after, I just knew what I didn't like. In the end I decided it was probably a better idea to get a one in the US. I told myself there would be an amazing selection because it gets so cold here. Unfortunately, I haven't found any I like over here either. Half of the problem has to do with the fact that I'm in the middle of nowhere, but nothing stood out to me online either. Yes there are beautiful designer ones that cost over $1000, but to be honest they still weren't my dream coat. Then I stumbled across the below picture on a pretend (well not the famous one) Jac and Jill blog(I accidently went to the wrong address). I wanted that coat. It was my dream coat! To me it is perfection. Elegent but causual with a bit of fur. Subtle enough not to be pimpy.

Then began hours of searching to find out the label, typing shearling jacket into Google Images and hoping for the best. Finally, I came across a blog, The Little Fashion Treasury. She, too, had fallen in love with the jacket after seeing a photo on the actual Jac and Jill blog. I found out the jacket is Baleciaga from AW04. Not only would it most likely cost two grand but it would be extremely hard to track down. Very depressing.

So I did a search on Shop Style on shearling jackets and these are some of the ones I came across. Unfortunately, non are as beautiful as the Balenciaga, but I quite like the Carin Wester. Also, I'm holding out for a vintage version turning up on eBay.
